Social Media Acceptable Use Policy.

This Social Media Acceptable Use Policy has been developed to work in conjunction with our Privacy Notice, Terms of Use and Cookies policy which form our general Terms and Conditions, and relates to the use of our associated Social Media Networking Platforms, including (but not limited to), Facebook and Twitter. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes other public access platforms such as (but not limited to), message boards, chat rooms and forums.

As a common means of communication and self-expression, social media networking platforms facilitate open conversation over the internet and as such, it is essential that users of our social media platforms (as defined above) make informed decisions about the ways in which they intend to use such amenities.

With this in mind and before engaging in conversation on any of our social media platforms, please be aware that the following policies have been adopted by us in order for users to continue to interact with such platforms in the positive way in which they are intended.

Failure to agree to, or comply with this policy may result in access to our social media platforms being removed and/or any offending group or individual blocked from access indefinitely.

Responsibility and respect for all.

  1. Everyone, regardless of age, race, sex, gender identity, national origin, colour, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, religion or belief, including any other status protected by law, has a right to feel safe, be respected and not feel threatened when using any of our social media networking platform as defined above.

  2. When using our social media platforms to engage in open conversation, hostile and harassing posts or comments will be removed by a platform administrator without prior notice or explanation and any offending group or individual may be blocked from access indefinitely. Such posts or comments include (but are not limited to) those of a seditious, offensive, abusive, malicious, threatening or menacing nature, including incitement of racial hatred, those which may be defined by law as liable, blasphemous, defamatory or slanderous, any post or comment discussing, displaying or advertising obscene, indecent or pornographic material and any post or comment promoting criminal activity of any kind.

Failure to comply with paragraphs 1 and 2 of this policy may result in access to our social media platforms being removed and/or any offending group or individual blocked from access indefinitely, and could lead to prosecution, court action, fines and/or imprisonment.

  1. Posts and comments made on our social media platforms, regardless of any privacy settings which you may have been put in place, can be easily accessed, copied and shared by anyone online, including children, and can quickly go viral. For the avoidance of doubt, please do not post anything on our social media platforms that you wouldn’t personally say to family member, friend, or to a stranger face to face.

We all want to enjoy the possibilities that social media has to offer and should never be afraid to use it as a way of communicating, sharing and voicing our concerns, views and opinions, but remember to always treat others as you would like to be treated yourself and if in doubt…Don’t post it!
