The importance of pulling together for Last Home Game of the Season

Wednesday 18th April 2018

Please believe us when we say that the Trust Board are fully aware of what has been a more than disappointing season for the Saddlers this season and that it's very doubtful that any member of the Board will disagree that the club should have acted swiftly and proactively to prevent the situation that Walsall FC currently finds itself in from ever occurring in the first place. We as supporters should not have to contend with having to rely on the results of other clubs, net alone the required points needed by our own club to ensure League One survival for next season, yet this is the position we find ourselves in and something we all need to work together on in order to put right.

In a bid to get the Banks's bouncing next Saturday (28th April) when the Saddlers face relegation contenders Northampton Town in our last home game of the season, the club have made the game just 5 per person and Season Ticket holders 'bring a friend for a fiver' in a bid to pack the stadium to show your support to the team, the club, the badge and to the hard work that Daen Keates has to do during the closed season in order to turn the team into a more competitive one for next season, something we feel is going to be an up hill struggle, given the team he has to work with and their lack of consistency this season.

Non-the-less, we put out a rallying call to all supporters of the club (and of the town) to get down to what is essentially the most important game of the season for the Saddlers next Saturday in attempt to cheer the lads onto safety. Wear red, wave your scarves, bring the family, bring your friends, bribe them if you have to, just get to the ground and show your support, blow the roofs off the stands and sing your hearts out. Players will come and go, managers will come and go, even owners will come and go, but lets not get to the point where our club, our pride and our passion can disappear also.

it's time for the team, the club, the board and the supporters to stand up and be counted and time to show everyone else that the pride, passion, ability and fight hasn't abandoned us just yet.

Lets 'keep the red flags flying high' and Up the Saddlers!
