Rest in Peace Ken Hodgkisson

We were sad to hear yesterday of the passing of former Walsall FC Inside Forward and member of the Walsall FC Former Players Association, Ken Hodgkisson aged 85.

Born William Kenneth Hodgkisson in West Bromwich on 12th March 1933, Ken, has he proffered to be known, signed for West Bromwich Albion in 1950 where he made his debut against Aston Villa at Villa Park. Ken was sold to the Saddlers in 1955 where he spent 11 years, scoring 56 goals in 352 appearances for the club, helping Walsall onto two back to back promotion seasons.

Ken later went on to play for non-league Worcester City and Dudley Town, the later of which he went onto manage for three years from 1968-1971.

We would like to take this opportunity to send our condolences to the family and friends of Ken on behalf of both the Trust and the Walsall FC FPA, and may he rest in peace.
