Walsall Advertiser Column

Thursday 23rd November 2017 - by Neil Ravenscroft

It is a very strange feeling to come away from a game that you have won 4 - 2, with the third and fourth goals being "goal of the month" contenders and still feel somewhat dissatisfied.

What the performance tonight showed was that we can play good, attacking football at times, and, despite being a little to open at the back, we were always the better of the two teams.

However, there have been too many occasions this season when this has not been the case and, even tonight, we were caught out with a lack of organisation at times, especially with their second goal.

I have not been one to go along with some of the criticism levelled at individual players at times and the Fleetwood game proved to me that there is nothing wrong with the squad that organisation, a settled formation and a settled line up wouldn't cure.  Now, how best to address that?
