Walsall Advertiser Column - Thursday 14th December 2017

Thursday 14th December 2017 - by Steve Davies

It was lovely to go home buzzing on Saturday night after a deserved win over our bogey side Scunthorpe a team who were the league form team being unbeaten in six games before Saturday. The club worked hard to get the game on, the team did their bit  with an excellent hard working performance and so did the fans backing the team for the full 90 minutes.

Off the field the Trust held their annual Toy and food collection and once again the fans response was magnificent meaning the players would have toys to give out on their visit to the manor hospital children's ward scheduled for yesterday (Thursday). Toys for the ward for the kids in hospital Christmas day and a few more for Kidz Klub and two shopping trolleys full of food for the Black Country food bank via the Thomas project at Aldridge purchased with fans donations on the day.

The newly formed Walsall FC disabled supporters association were also out at the fun day on Saturday and are looking to welcome any Saddlers fans with disabilities to join the new group and enjoy watching football.

Their next steering group meeting is in the 1888 club on February 5th 7pm. Further information can be obtained by e mailing or by visiting the temporary home at
